MAXIMUM BIRD TOUR - 5 DAYS

This tour has been run successfully over many years and is aimed at providing the maximum range of birds and habitat types available in the given time. Over 200 species are likely to be recorded on this tour which covers the prime birding sites in central, north-central and southern Victoria all within 300 kms of Melbourne.

We will be driving in a wide loop and spending 4 nights outside of Melbourne covering Port Phillip Bay, the Western coastline, Central Victoria’s box-ironbark country, the Riverine plains of North-central Victoria before returning to Melbourne via the foothills and mountains of the Great Dividing range.

Staying overnight in a variety of quieter rural areas means more time in the field. Early mornings and the end of each day are often special times to be out in nature

And for the adventurous some spotlighting adventures after dark are a way to connect with wildlife you wont see in the day. A variety of nocturnal birds may be found with a little luck as well as animals that emerge from their roost sites in tree hollows etc

The itinerary for this tour is flexible depending on current conditions and any specific target species or special requests. This tour may be extended to cover more time and country.
